In this tour of the Washington Park Arboretum, you will see some of the many plants the arboretum cultivates and conserves that are currently under threat in the wild. Learn more about what the Arboretum is doing to preserve and protect those species, the threats they are experiencing in their native habitats, and the valuable role that public gardens have in ensuring the conservation of endangered species.
Ray Larson has been the Curator of Plant Collections at the University of Washington Botanic Gardens since 2013. He is responsible for curating the plants and landscapes at the UW Botanic Gardens, most of which are found at the 230 acre, 83-yeard old Arboretum. He has a 20 year association with the UW Botanic Gardens, and received his MS in Urban Horticulture from the UW in 2005.
