The Wait is nearly over! The All-Montlake Yard Sale is Coming
Saturday, October 5. And You’re All invited.
Yard sale hosts in more than 40 neighborhood sites are getting ready to welcome Montlake Neighbors & Eager Shoppers from Everywhere. Gates open this Saturday at 9:00 a.m. and stay open til 4:00 p.m. With the help of our handy shoppers’ map, you can circulate to all the sites from Shelby & Hamlin in the shadow of Husky Stadium to Interlaken Blvd in the south end heading up toward Capitol Hill. Download the Montlake Yard Sale Map here or pick it up at Montlake shops along 24th Ave E., our community main street.
You’ll find big stuff and little treasures; high tech and antiques; sports equipment & leisure/camping gear; artwork and yardwork (tools); kids toys & grandma’s souvenirs. (Download the Yard Sale Item Summary Chart here) Truly, it’s going to be a magnificent potpourri! Grab your wallet; grab your shopping shoes; bring your friends and join the crowds hunting for fantastic bargains along the garden-filled streets of Montlake.
While you’re shopping for great bargains, why not stop off for a deli lunch at the Montlake Boulevard Market, a burger at the Montlake Ale House, or picnic supplies at Mont’s Market. Have a latte or tea break at FUEL. Visit Mr. Johnson’s Antiques and the Montlake Bicycle Shop. Stay after the sale ends for dinner at Café Lago. We love our Montlake businesses and you will too.
And here is a bonus from Aaron, the Store Manager at the Montlake Boulevard Market: “We will offer free Hot Chocolate / Hot coffee with no purchase necessary to everyone from 7:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Sunday.” Who can resist that offer?
And finally, for those of you who live around Montlake, and aren’t offering a yard sale yet want to clean house a bit to make room for your newfound items, we have an invitation – Bring donations of your household goods & clothes to the Montlake Blvd Market’s west parking lot. The Northwest Center will have its big blue truck there between 4:45-5:30 p.m. Saturday. The St. Vincent de Paul truck will be there 10-12 a.m. on Sunday. Your clean, undamaged goods will be welcome additions to those brought as remainders from the yard sale hosts.
Join your community; Join the giving; Join the fun.
