An opportunity for neighbors to help neighbors! The Montlake Community Club is looking for volunteers who will be part of the neighborhood’s first-ever snow brigade which is being established to assist neighbors in the event of a snow fall. The services provided would include:
1. Providing transportation to needed medical appointments;
2. Picking up and delivering necessary prescriptions;
3. Walking dogs;
4. Clearing snow from porches, walkways and/or driveways.
A similar program was developed by the Madison Park Community Council for their neighborhood. It has been successfully used whenever there has been a significant snowfall. The volunteers are people who can navigate in the snow by car and/or on foot. Anyone who needs assistance for one of the services only needs to call and they are matched up with a suitable volunteer.
Interested persons who want to volunteer for any of the services should contact the Montlake Community Club Board at president@montlake.net or use the contact form below by November 30th. A meeting is scheduled in early December to provide details about how the program works for the Madison Park community and how we can get it up and running in Montake.
Thank you!
