Seattle Yacht Club is pleased to announce that the United States Army’s premier attack and utility helicopters – the AH-64E Apache “Guardian” and UH-60M Black Hawk will conduct an aerial flyover in this year’s Opening Day Parade on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at noon over the Montlake Cut to Union Bay.
Joint Base Lewis-McChord’s 16th Combat Aviation Brigade will conduct the flyover as part of a combined aerial demonstration. This will be an opportunity for spectators to catch a glimpse of some of the U.S. Army’s most advanced aircraft. The 16th Combat Aviation Brigade, commanded by Colonel Paul Mele, completed combat missions in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, Afghanistan in November 2014. There will also be a practice flyover on Wednesday, April 29 at 12:15 p.m.
