Would you like to help preserve your environment, contribute to your neighborhood’s community spirit, and slow down global warming, all in 2.5 hours of donated time? All this can be accomplished as follows.
Plan to meet with other neighbors at Montlake Community’s Pocket Parks, located at the corner of 24th Ave and Boyer Avenue East.
We will be preparing the parks for the winter; moving mulch, planting nine new plants, and transplanting some ferns. We will also be raking leaves and doing small pruning jobs. Bring your gloves, weeders, and a shovel, if you can help with the planting..
Refreshments of cocoa, coffee, and Safeway extra large chocolate chip and M&M cookies will be provided. It is a lot of fun.
