Learn about the Montlake Historic District Draft National Register Nomination – Tuesday December 2, 2014
The Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) invites residents of the Montlake community to learn about the nomination of the Montlake neighborhood to the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) on Tuesday December 2, 2014, 6:00 – 7:30 at the Montlake Community Center.
Our team of architectural historians are busily compiling information to finish the draft National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) nomination for the Montlake Historic District. The team conducted a survey and inventory of 50 blocks (approximately 1200 buildings) between the Montlake Cut to the north and Interlaken to the south, 15th Avenue East to the west and the Arboretum to the east.
In the upcoming weeks, interested Montlake residents will have an opportunity to review and comment on the draft NRHP nomination, and to learn more about the process at the December 2nd meeting. We will be providing information on the SR 520 history website. In the meantime, please email MontlakeHistoryTips@wsdot.wa.
If you have additional questions or feedback please contact Steve Archer, WSDOT Cultural Resources Specialist, at 206-805-2895 or archers@
