Right now it’s a sad scene: a chain link fence all around our playground with piles of dirt and construction tools and equipment where the play equipment used to be. But a new and safer playground will sprout up from this rubble during the next few months. If you want to watch this transformation, come over to the community center and see our new play area take shape. We should have a great new spot for kids to enjoy by the end of the year.
While you are at the center, check out the new pathways that have been created at the water’s edge and in the wetlands. You can see the huge beaver lodge and many stumps where the beavers have gnawed down trees to make their lodge. The trees they have cut down have very distinct teeth marks on the top. There are other trees that the beavers gnawed on but left standing and created some interesting outdoor art for their habitat.
