Via WSDOT:
AVOID EB 520 FROM SEATTLE** Multi-car crash blocking all lanes right before Montlake.
Need to head to Bellevue/Kirkland or beyond? Take I-90 or I-405. EB 520 remains blocked.
Again, EB 520 near Montlake and I-5 ramps to EB 520 blocked due to serious collision. Avoid it and use I-90 or I-405.

It seems to me that this is a clear example of a news release (?) that has a “vague” tone to it WHEN a person really READS it. What does “RIGHT BEFORE” mean, precisely? Each of us can take a guess, but whoever puts things such as this out for public consumption is not “speaking” to everyone “equally.” The picture DOES SHOW the Portage Bay lanes that rise up to I-5. To a “Montlaker” — I do, after all, realize where I am reading about this !!! … suppose he or she is standing or driving at, say, McGraw … or Boyer … To such a person, this “news” can actually sharpen and improve one’s use of 520 at that moment: Just drive into the Arboretum using Boyer, take a left, and (apparently) you would wind up having a clear shot onto eastbound 520 (at the NW corner of the Arb.). “They” should tailor what they say, and use clearer words!
