The first Saturday in May is upon us bringing Opening Day, the official opening of Seattle’s boating season, and the 28th Annual Windermere Cup Regatta – University of Washington faces the reigning world champion, Great Britain Rowing Team. Opening Day in Seattle is a family affair; families picnic, watch the races and decorate their boats for the festivities and Seattle Yacht Club’s Opening Day Boat Parade.
9:40 a.m. – Montlake Cut closes to ALL boat traffic
10:20 – 11:40 a.m. – Windermere Cup Crew Races
12:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. – Parade of Boats in the Montlake Cut
