Montlake’s annual 4th of July parade, hosted by Montlake Family Coop, is rolling through the neighborhood on Saturday, July 4th. The festivities begin at Montlake Community Center at 10am with bicycle, tricycle, stroller and wagon decoration before a parade at roughly 10:30 following an around-the-block route. The fun continues at 11am with frozen treats for the children and a special visit from Seattle Fire Station 22. The Coop will provide decorations and popsicles and balloons are being donating by Montlake Community Club. Neighbors are welcomed to set up lawn chairs along the parade route and cheer kids and families. The parade starts at the intersection of Calhoun & 18th and continues around the block onto McGraw and 16th with participants completing multiple laps around the block. Everyone is invited to join a bring-your-own picnic at the park.
Montlake Family Coop’s mission is to help Montlake families connect with and support one another. The coop hosts annual events, organizes nights out for parents, and runs a meal program for families. The coop also has a very active list serve. The list serve has valuable information on preschools, activities for children and families, child care, and child gear for sale.
