We’ve saved our youngest musicians for the extra special “closer” of our Montlake Unabridged 2015 music series. The WMS Junior Fiddlers will entertain us Saturday, September 29. They’ll be busking on our Montlake library/Mont’s street corner from 1:00 to 3:00, playing some of your favorite old-time fiddle songs.
These budding musicians move up to 7th and 8th grade at Washington Middle School this year. They’ve already been playing together for a year now, and put in appearances at a number of local music festivals. These Junior Fiddlers even took the stage at this year’s Folk Life Festival, so you know they’re on their way to local fame.
WSM members performing for us Saturday include: Tatiana Linden, Alyssa Tou, and Binh Vo on fiddle; Isabelle Randolph Wang on viola (a big fiddle); Rylee Jo Bundesmann on mandolin, and Nina Zito & Matthew Lord on bass (the really big fiddle). Look (and listen) around to find them on Saturday afternoon in Downtown Montlake.
If it rains (slim chance, but we’re prepared), thank FUEL for welcoming our buskers inside to play for your listening pleasure. These plucky kids deserve to have a big, big audience whatever the weather, so come to Downtown Montlake to cheer them on.
This summer of music, arts, and authors events has been sponsored by your Montlake Community Club.
