FUEL Coffee Montlake invites you to hear Lisa Furukawa (Monroe) in a special two-hour set of original songs this coming Sunday afternoon, August 23rd (3:30-5:30 p.m.). In this, her Montlake debut, you can listen to Lisa’s amazing voice performing songs from her four albums (www.lisafurukawa.com ). She might even sing her newest songs not yet available to the public. You’ll hear an engaging fusion of folk, alternative chamber pop, and electronics as Lisa combines soulful piano and vocal ballads –from elegant love songs to complex Celtic jigs.
Since 2005 Lisa has been touring Japanese animation and media conventions around the world. Asian and Celtic folk themes merge in her pop music—a perfect blend of her Japanese and Scottish heritage. She started musical studies at the age of 2, and, yes, she comes from an extraordinarily musical family.
Lisa Furukawa has performed at festivals, conferences, and consulate functions, not to mention various benefit performances for causes close to her heart. Her recent move to Seattle, and specifically to our Montlake neighborhood, makes us the lucky neighbors and audience for her highly original and wonderfully engaging music.
Stroll over to FUEL Sunday, grab your favorite afternoon coffee drink and then make yourself a part of the mesmerized audience.
Lisa Furukawa’s performance at FUEL is sponsored by your Montlake Community Club as a part of the Montlake Unabridged series.
