No surprise that a photographer who lives near the Arboretum would find flowers a favorite subject. Jonathan Phillips’ July photographic art exhibit at the Edward Jones Investment Office showed his ability to capture at close range the forms, colors, and intricate designs of blooms practically in his backyard. Well, of course, flowers aren’t his only lovely subjects, as you’ll discover when you review the slide show below of the works on display this past month. And this show is but a tiny sample of the many kinds of subjects in Jonathan’s extensive collection of photos.
Jonathan Phillips has served as the official photographer for the Montlake Unabridged 2015 arts, music and authors series. That means that the hundred or more Montlake Flyer photos capturing the series events from May till now have been the work of this skilled artist. From the musicians’ gigs, to the writers’ presentations, to the artists’ opening parties, displays and sales tables, Jonathan has been there to capture the moments. Editing work always follows, taking even more time and skill.
The Montlake Community Club recognizes Jonathan’s dedication to our community, and offers sincere appreciation for the many times he’s volunteered his talents to capture our happenings in the neighborhood over the past few years. Thank you Jonathan. We’re lucky to have you.
