Boyer’s Toddler Playgroup Program: Come for the learning, discover the magic, stay for the community.

June 25, 2024 by lindsayjohnson Leave a Comment

At Boyer, children and their caregivers explore, imagine, learn, and grow together in a nurturing and supportive environment. Our classes offer a play-based curriculum structured with age-appropriate activities, materials and routines. Research shows that play-based education encourages self-exploration, conflict resolution, and provides critical learning skills in resilience, confidence, and more – all while joyfully having fun!

During class, parents will gain priceless knowledge from our experienced educators. Learn how to support your child through transitions, social interactions with peers/less-familiar adults, and encourage active participation in learning routines, trying new things and making safe choices.

In addition, Boyer’s close-knit community is unrivaled. Families gain a foundation for growth, a heart for inclusivity, a joy for learning, and friendships that extend years beyond the classroom.

Interested in joining us? Please contact Kimberly Kendall, Education Department Manager, at kimberly.kendall@boyercc.org or call (206) 325-8477 to learn more and schedule a tour.

Tiny Stars Class (10-20 months)

Tiny Stars is a wonderful way to introduce children to early learning, as well as for parents to gain invaluable skills. Class meets for a one-hour a week session consisting of group activity experiences including music/story time, free play, snack time, gross motor movement time, and parent education topics. Each week, the toys and materials vary to facilitate curiosity and active exploration, and to reflect the unique interests and needs of each group. Caregivers participate along with their child.

Montlake Schedule: Tuesdays from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM or Wednesdays: 9:00-10:00 AM

Magnuson Park Schedule: Wednesdays from 8:30-9:30 AM

Rising Stars Class (18-36 months)

In Rising Stars, toddlers continue building critical social emotional skills, all while having fun with friends! Classes meet for two hour sessions twice-weekly, with group activity experiences including music time, free play, art, snack time, and playing in our big gym. Each week, the theme and toys groups change to facilitate curiosity and active exploration. Caregivers are given the option to participate alongside their child, or to drop off.
