Hey neighbors,
I just got in the mail a flyer from SDOT about some of their plans for 23rd and 24th Ave E between John and Roanoke. Basically they have no plans for between Boyer and Roanoke and some plans for south of Boyer. But, none of their plans are going to make crossing the street any easier or easier for homeowners to exit their own driveways on this arterial. Also, as some other arterials in the city have enjoyed reductions of speed, this one is not one of them…even though it is in an almost uniformly residential neighborhood. Lastly, it appears they are reneging on their promise to install a pedestrian- and/or cyclist-activated signal at 24th Ave E/ Interlaken Blvd E.
Whether or not you like any of these ideas, you probably have some thoughts on improvements for the street. Rarely, do we get a chance to have them obligated to hear what we say, this is one chance on Thursday, October 19, 5:30-7:00 pm drop-in at Montlake Community Center.
