The early bird rate for the 2020 Montlake Turkey Trot ends at midnight on Thursday November 12th. Be sure to register NOW to get the lowest registration rates!
The 5th Annual Montlake Turkey Trot has gone virtual with 100% of the fun and community benefits. A primary goal of the Montlake Turkey Trot is to raise money for the University District Food Bank (UDFB). The impacts of COVID-19 have hit those farthest from opportunity the hardest and the UDFB has seen an increase in demand as more people face food insecurity. We are proud to partner with the UDFB and will donate 100% of all net proceeds from the Montlake Turkey Trot to them.
Registration includes a race bib, finisher medal, and a neck buff that features the Montlake Bridge. Swag will be shipped/delivered directly to your home prior to Thanksgiving day. Want to participate but don’t want the swag? You can still sign up and opt out of the swag for a lower cost. In just the last week, we raised enough from sponsors to cover the cost of all swag and shipping so no matter what you choose, your registration dollars will be supporting a great cause! Thanks again to all our cash sponsors: Windermere Real Estate Midtown, Graham Construction, Hilleberg the Tentmaker, Mangum Fitness, and Diane Terry.
So join the fun by registering today! And don’t forget to supersize your support to the UDFB by making an additional donation right after you register! And we still have opportunities for volunteers and sponsors.
Good Jazz, Good Food, Good Company–All At Cafe Lago
Café Lago welcomes YOU and the JAZZ HANDS on June 10 (7-9 p.m.) for an evening of Good Jazz, Good Food, and Good Company. This isn’t just your ordinary Wednesday night in Montlake. Calling All Montlake Artists, Musicians, & Authors
Join in our 2nd ANNUAL “All Montlake Music, Arts & Authors Happening”
That’s right, once again we’re looking for our neighbors to step forth, (or nominate neighbors and friends) to entertain and delight us all on Sunday afternoon, May 18 at the Montlake Community Center.
- To celebrate and enjoy the talents of our many Montlake neighbors–professionals and amateurs, children and adults;
- To meet and greet your neighbors;
- To continue a wonderful new tradition.
We invite artists to display paintings & drawings, ceramics, jewelry, sculpture, fiber art, photographs, woodworking, and other artistic creations.
We invite musicians — soloists to small groups; folk to jazz to classical; vocals and instrumentals; wacky to inspiring.
And this year, we’re inviting authors to show off their works.
If we’ve caught your interest, e-mail AMMAHappening@montlake.net to get a few more details and/or put yourself or your group on the potential participant lists. If you know any bashful artists, authors, or musicians in Montlake whom you’d like to see celebrated at the event, please let us know so we can encourage them to sign on. We can only do this event if our talented folks join in.
And finally, if you’d like to be part of the Montlake Community Club planning committee or help staff the event on May 18th, contact us at the same address.
