On Saturday, April 20, the Arboretum Foundation, UW Botanic Gardens, and Seattle Parks and Recreation will co-host their annual Earth Day community work-service event at the Arboretum.
From 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., volunteers will help restore the park by removing invasive ivy and blackberry in natural areas, and by mulching and weeding the plant collections!
Please join the restoration effort! You must be 15 years or older to participate! Pre-registration is required. Volunteer here.
To celebrate the Arboretum’s 90th birthday this year, all volunteers will receive a complimentary cupcake!
Then in the afternoon, the Arboretum partners will host some free 90th-birthday activities for all, including hop-on, hop-off tram rides around the Loop Trail (2 to 4 p.m.) and a pollinator education station at the Graham Visitors Center (noon to 4 p.m.) — and more free cupcakes!
See the Earth Day at the Arboretum event page for full details.
