Thank you to the community for supporting the Montlake Community Club’s 5K Turkey Trot & Kids Run, benefitting the University District Food Bank. Here’s what you need to know before the race on Thanksgiving morning.

Advance Bib and T-Shirt Pick-Up is Wednesday November 21st, from 2PM to 7PM at Glam and Tonics AVEDA Salon – 2302 24th Ave E.

If you can’t make advance pick-up, or if you register online after 7 pm Wednesday, bib pick-up will be near the starting line after 8 AM on race day.

In Person Registration
If you want to register in person on race day, go to Glam & Tonics Salon, 2302 24^th Ave. Credit cards or cash accepted.

9:30 AM – 5K Begins at E Lynn St and 25^th Ave E
10:20 AM – 5K Winners Announced

Parents are welcome to accompany their children. All children receive medals.

Dogs are not allowed. Strollers are allowed.

Chip Timing
The timing chip is affixed to the back of your bib number. Please don’t bend or crinkle the bib as it can damage the timing chip and cause your time to be lost. Please wear the bib on the front outside of your outmost layer of clothing.

Race Results
5K winners will be announced at 10:20 AM before the kid’s race starts. Race results will be posted near the finish line. Results are available online on Run Sign Up and via Montlake.net.

Race Prizes
1^st place male and female finishers win 1 month-unlimited memberships at Earth + Wind + Fire Yoga and a Turkey Trot Sweatshirt.  2^nd place male and female finishers win Montlake sweatshirts.  3^rd place finishers win Montlake T-shirts.

All registrants are invited to two FREE training sessions with Montlake resident and sports scientist Tyler Mangum. Sessions take place at the Montlake Community Center Playfields at these times:

Sunday, November 4: 12 pm to 1 pm
Sunday, November 11: 11 am to 12 pm

No need to RSVP – just show up and Tyler will be there.

The Montlake Community Club extends a big thanks to Earth + Wind + Fire owners Madzy Besselaar, Jamie Scates Schmitz, and Montlake’s very own Alice Harper for their generous donation. These veteran yoga teachers opened the newly remodeled yoga studio in January and offer a variety of yoga classes catering to beginners, advanced yogis, and everyone in between.

The Montlake Community Club 5K Turkey Trot & Kids Run is back for a third year! On Thanksgiving morning–that’s November 22, 2018–join the fun, do good, and make Turkey Trot part of your Thanksgiving tradition. Net proceeds go to the University District Food Bank. Last year, together we raised over $23,000 for the food bank!

Racers who make additional donations (beyond the race fee) will be entered in a drawing for prizes from sponsors.  So far, Cafe Lago on 24th Ave E has donated four lasagna dinners worth $100 each and a cooking class for 10 people, valued at $600!  Each $10 donation earns one chance for a prize. You do not have to race to donate, nor do you need to be present to win–simply DONATE on the race registration page.

Fall is upon us and plans are underway for the annual Montlake Community Club 5K Turkey Trot & Kids Run, benefiting the the University District Food Bank.

In 2017, the Turkey Trot raised over $23,000– funding 10% of the Food Bank’s total annual operating budget. In just our second year we more than doubled our donations and this year we hope to build further upon that success.

Now in its third year, Turkey Trot has become a highly visible event in Montlake, Capitol Hill, Central District, Madison Park, Downtown Seattle, and other neighborhoods throughout Seattle. Over 800 runners participated last year from zip codes across the city. Turkey Trot marketing reaches thousands more and is a great way for your business to get exposure while doing good.

Becoming a 2018 Turkey Trot Sponsor or securing a donation from your employer is easy. Download a Turkey Trot Sponsorship Packet and contact chris@motofish.com with questions. Contact Chris today to ensure your meet deadlines for t-shirt printing and advertising materials. Your business name will also be included in a press release when we announce total funds donated to the food bank. Net proceeds from sponsorships and event registration will be donated directly to the University District Food Bank.

Last year, the 2nd Annual Montlake Turkey Trot garnered strong print and social media coverage, appearing in The Seattle Times, The Stranger and The Capitol Hill Times and many social feeds and channels.
