Nature’s Delight

January 15, 2017 by Larry Hubbell Leave a Comment

eb2r4528Sometimes it feels like nature is teasing me. Showing me birds from a distance and then hiding them when I try to get close – until suddenly the reverse happens. See more on:

The World’s Largest Swans

January 23, 2016 by Larry Hubbell 4 Comments

EB2R9520We are particularly lucky to live in a city that is visited by Trumpeter Swans. Their grace and elegance, their impressive size and their astonishing white feathers are a heart-lifting combination, which is especially refreshing in the middle of a grey winter day. See more on:

Out of the Arctic | Union Bay Watch

November 29, 2014 by Larry Hubbell Leave a Comment

EB2R3485This elegant bird breeds in the Arctic, feeds in underwater and spends most of its life at sea. It visited Union Bay for a couple of days this week and could be seen just north of Marsh Island. There are also other birds from the Arctic and a Bald Eagle with its Thanksgiving dinner. See the photos on Union Bay Watch.
